News from China

Within the partnership program with the Guizhou Pedagogical University, the students of the Faculty of foreign languages of the I.Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University Larisa Philippova, Ekaterina Kuznetsova and Aksinya Timofeeva started their training period in the People’s republic of China. They are learning the Chinese language at the Guizhou Pedagogical University (the city of Guiyang).

Aksinya Timofeeva: “It’s been two months since we arrived in China. A lot of interesting things have happened to us during this time. We’ve made new friends with both locals and exchange students from other countries.
At the end of March our university organized a trip to the city of Yuzing, where we had a chance to attend a concert dedicated to the Festival of Flowers. In the evening of that day we watched a light and fountain show. The next day were taken to the mountains where we saw beautiful peach trees in full blossom and a tea plantation. It was great! Our Chinese friends took us to a monkey park, where we saw different kinds of monkeys and wonderful architecture. Fortunately, we were instructed to be on guard because the monkeys there are really quick and deft and can steal little things from visitors.
Another place we visited was Qingyan Ancient City where we saw and old castle reminiscent of the Chinese Great Wall.
We also had a meeting with those Chinese students who had studied Russian in the I.Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University in the previous year, and we had a good time together.
In the middle of April we had a very nice meeting with our teachers from the Chuvash State Pedagogical University who were paying a working visit to the Guizhou Pedagogical University.
There are a lot of places of interest in China we are going to see in the nearest future”.
