"SAME BUT DIFFERENT" |
On June 20, the photo exhibition “MY RAZ/VNYE” (Same but Different) was launched in the main building of I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University. This wonderful and inspiring photo project initiated by the magazine "DETKIDS" marks the opening of the Chuvash Republican Public Organization “Sila Dobra” (The Power of Good) which supports children with the Down syndrome. The authors of the project are Anna Novoselova and Olga Chummina, the photographer is Regina Avramova. Famous people of the Chuvash Republic took part in the photo shoot. Denis Bykov, a student of the Faculty of Natural Science of the CHSPU, also participated in the project and won the title “Mr. Creativity” in the 2017 All-Russian contest “Miss and Mr. Student”.
The Public Organization “Sila Dobra” was initiated by a group of parents of eight children affected by the Down syndrome. At first, they were united by Kindergarten No. 7 (Cheboksary), where the first official inclusive group in the republic opened back in 2014. The teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Preschool and Correctional Pedagogy and Psychology of CHSPU cooperate with the organization “Sila Dobra” and strive to ensure that people with the Down syndrome live a full life, that their human dignity is under protection, and they have an opportunity to be actively involved in the life of the society. The goal of the exhibition is to increase public awareness of children with special needs, to improve their social adaptation and boost their development through creativity. "Sunny" children, like anyone on Earth, have the right to be happy. To adapt in the society, they require much greater effort and attention of those who love them. The exhibition is open to the public at 38, K. Marx Street, Cheboksary (2nd floor of the main building of I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University). June 21, 2019 Photos |
