Results of the III International Chainsaw Woodcarving Festival Visiting a Fairy TaleJune 24, Mechta Health Care Centre of I. Yakovlev University hosted the closing ceremony of the III International Chainsaw Woodcarving Festival Visiting a Fairy Tale. The event was organized by the Faculty of Technology and Economics of the Chuvash State Pedagogical University.
The festival was attended by famous masters from Germany and Russian Regions such as the Republic of Mari El, the Udmurt Republic, the Republic of Mordovia, the Republic of Chuvashia, the Moscow Region and Tolyatti.
The festival participants were creating decorative benches in the form of different heroes from folk tales and legends. The competition lasted three days.
Svetlana Ilyina, the Vice-Rector for Academic Work of Yakovlev University addressed the participants at the closing ceremony.
The results of the competition:
1st prize - Alexander Ivanov (the Republic of Chuvashia), sculpture The Little Mermaid;
2nd prize - Bernd Winter (Germany), sculptural composition The Old Man and the Bird;
3rd prize - Sergey Nazarov (the Udmurt Republic), sculptural composition The Frog Princess and
Vladimir Antropov (the Republic of Mari El), sculptural composition The Legend about Prince Oleg'.
All the participants received letters of gratitude, the winners received valuable gifts, certificates and cash prizes.
The benches made by the participants of the festival will be placed on the territory of Mechta Health Care Centre and the Visiting a Fairy Tale EcoPark, which is located on the territory of Yakovlev University swimming pool.
