ChSPU Students and Teachers Took Part in the All-Russian Walking Day

On October 5 Chuvashia joined the big sports festival - the All-Russian Walking Day, organized by the Russian Olympic Committee.
The All-Russian day of walking is held in our country for the sixth time. The first start took place on October 9, 2014 and was timed to coincide with the opening of the International Sports Forum "Russia is a Sports Power", which was held in Cheboksary.
On Saturday almost 1,200 fans of an active lifestyle gathered on the renovated Moscow Embankment in Cheboksary, including 70 students and teachers of Yakovlev ChSPU.
The participants were greeted by the acting Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Chuvash Republic Elvira Matrenina, Honored Masters of Sports of the USSR and Russia Elena Nikolaeva, Olympiad Ivanova and Alina Ivanova.
Along with renowned athletes, sports veterans, state and political figures of the region, the participants walked a distance of 2020 meters in support of the Russian Olympic team, who are preparing for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
There were no winners or losers. At the finishing line each participant received a diploma from the Russian Olympic Committee.
In total, on this day in Chuvashia about 2600 adherents of a healthy lifestyle joined the All-Russian Walking Day.
