The employees of the Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture have extensive experience in organizing classes in Russian as a foreign language and education in Russian. They work with foreign students who study for a bachelor’s degree and at the preparatory department for foreign citizens, organize courses for additional educational programs. At the university there are different educational programs that meet the requirements of educational standards for pre-university training in Russia and include classes at the preparatory department for students specializing in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, Physics and Mathematics.
Every year the teachers of the Center participate in grant competitions, conducting a study of the processes of Russian language assimilation by foreign students. The results of these scientific studies are used in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language and make it possible to prevent a number of difficulties that students face in their Russian speech.
One of the most important tools for expanding international cultural and humanitarian cooperation, ensuring educational, scientific, cultural and informational influence of the Russian Federation in the world is support and promotion of the Russian language abroad. The Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture continues to work on fruitful interaction and cooperation with neighboring countries.
Within the framework of the concluded agreements, in order to develop international relations, support and promotion of the Russian language in foreign countries, Russian is taught as a foreign language to students from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Sri Lanka, also cultural, educational, scientific and methodological events are held.
The Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture was created on the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University” and carries out its activities in different directions: scientific, research, methodological, educational, cultural and creative. It was created due to the importance and ambiguity of the development of the function of the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation in modern geopolitical conditions, necessity of promoting timely cultural and linguistic adaptation of migrants from the countries of the neighboring and far abroad countries.
In 2023 The Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture of I. Yakovlev ChSPU is implementing the project “Creation of the Center for the Study of the Russian Language and Culture of I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University on the basis of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine" with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation on the basis of the Minutes of the meeting of the commission of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation on competitive selection and agreement No. 073-15-2023-1626 dated May 05, 2023 on the provision of a grant from the federal budget in the form of a subsidy to legal entities as part of the implementation of certain measures of the state program of the Russian Federation "Development of Education", aimed at the full functioning and development of the Russian language.
