The All-Russian Festival «Our choice is sports!» was held in Kazan from May 29 to June 2, 2019. The Festival united the finalists of the three projects of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia (ASSC). Those were the finalists in the main competitions of the ASSC Championship, in the activists’ educational program of the student sports movement «ASSC.pro», and in the qualifying competitions of the first club tournament «Vostok vs Zapad». 2,200 students from 55 regions of Russia took part in the Festival.
CHSPU Student Sports Club «Patriot» captured gold in the club tournament «Zapad» and, thus, entered the European conference of the club tournament «Vostok vs Zapad».
16 teams from the Russian universities took part in the qualifying matches of the All-Russian Club Tournament «Zapad». The teams competed in volleyball, badminton, rope pulling, Russian dynamometer, crossfit.
«Patriot» SSC team athletes – Tatyana Borisova (FPE), Andrey Ivanov (FPM), Evgeny Kamasev (FPM), Aleksander Krasnov (FPE), Dmitry Masterkin (FTE), Aleksandra Murashkina (FPE), Aleksander Pukhov (FTE), Elena Fedorova (FPE), Viktor Filippov (FPE), Dmitry Nikiforov (FPE) – turned in a fine performance:
1st place – rope pulling
1st place – crossfit
3rd place – volleyball
3rd place – Russian dynamometer
4th place – badminton.
The winners in the team event:
1st place – SSC team «Patriot» (CHSPU), Cheboksary
2nd place – SSC team «Pegas» (BSU), Belgorod
3rd place – SSC team «Academy» (VRSAPCST), Kazan,
All these teams will represent the European region in the first club tournament of the ASSC of Russia «Vostok vs Zapad», which will be held this fall in Moscow.
This year it was the first time the Association divided the student sports clubs into the European and Asian conferences. The qualifying stage to «Vostok» team was held in Krasnoyarsk. The students there competed in crossfit, Russian dynamometer, rope pulling and events.
In addition to competitions at the festival «Our choice is sports!», there was held a panel discussion. The leaders and activists of the student sports clubs from across the country discussed the options for further development.
