From November 2018 to August 31, 2019, in the Chuvash Republic there had been the implementation of the project of the Federation of Sports Tourism of the Chuvash Republic “I Choose Sports Tourism” with financial support from the Presidential Grants Fund.The project was carried out in order to popularize and develop sports tourism in the Chuvash Republic and increase the number of people involved in this sport.
The project was implemented in 7 towns of the Republic, where there 11 centers for the development of sports tourism of the Federation of Sports Tourism of the Chuvash Republic were created. Yakovlev University was selected to place one of the centers for the development of sports tourism.
There have been achieved significant results on the project over the year.
ChSPU hosted a workshop in sports tourism, which brought together about 100 students. The participants of the event comprehended the basics of tourism by completing tasks at the “Rope Town”, “Orienteering, “Knotting”, “Sports Tourism Life”, “Knowledge of Sports Tourism”, “Ropes and Carabiners” stations.
The students of the Pedagogical University took part in the seminars for trainers and teachers in sports tourism, as well as were able to improve their judicial qualifications. During the year, the representatives of the ChSPU actively participated in the refereeing of the Republican competitions and held in-house competitions.
In early May, the first big starts were held for the students of all faculties of the ChSPU in which 93 people took part and tried strength in walking of Class 2.
At the end of May, not only students but also schoolchildren took part in the traditional Championship of the ChSPU in sports tourism.
From May to August, project participants made a category trip with schoolchildren across the Mari El Republic, 12 trainee trips across the Volga region (Republic of Chuvashia) and the Caucasus, as well as 2 trips under the “Ready for Work and Defence”.
In addition, Yakovlev University was awarded sports tourism equipment, which was purchased as part of the project “I Choose Sports Tourism” with the funds from the Presidential Grants Fund.
In the new academic year, Yakovlev University center for the development of sports tourism plans to introduce students to sports tourism.
