On October 31st, I. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University, with the participation of the Resource Training and Methodological Center for Training of the Disabled and Persons with Limited Health Capacities of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Vyatka State University”, held the round table conference “Employment of Graduates and Other Persons with Disabilities: Opportunities, Risks, Prospects”. The purpose of the event is to promote the employment and postgraduate support of graduates with disabilities.
The Rector of ChSPU Vladimir Ivanov stressed the importance of the discussed issues on inclusive higher education, postgraduate support and employment of persons with disabilities during the round table conference.
The round table conference was attended by the representatives of executive authorities: Larisa Ermakova, Head of the Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Chuvash Republic; Evgeny Guryanov, Leading Inspector of the Department of Career Guidance and Organization of Vocational Training, “Employment Center in Cheboksary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Chuvash Republic”; the representatives of employers: Natalia Vasilyeva, Deputy Director for Educational Work, N. Nikolsky Cheboksary Professional College; Svetlana Korotkova, Principal of the Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 56” in the city of Cheboksary of the Chuvash Republic; the representatives of ChSPU : Aleksandr Smirnov, Head of the Department of Pre-University Training and Employment of Graduates; Olga Antonova, Head of the Graduate Employment Center; the graduates of ChSPU: Polina Ovchinnikova (a 2018 graduate), Teacher of Informatics, N. Nikolsky Cheboksary Professional College; Natalia Shakmaeva (a 2019 graduate), Teacher of Music, MBEI “Secondary School No. 56” in Cheboksary; Ragiba Efendieva, Forth-year Student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The round table conference highlighted the issues of inclusive higher education, postgraduate support and employment of people with disabilities, the best practices of universities in teaching, support of students with disabilities, and their professional socialization; discussed the prospects of interaction of universities, government and businesses to increase the level of employment of people with disabilities.
